Today I drove 3 and a half hours to the factory that printed the books. While I was there I also got to go on a tour of the factory! All the Sketch Books are in hand and shipping starts this week and I usually only take a few days to ship. So meanwhile, enjoy the pictures from the tour!

Books in Production!
over 8 years ago – Mon, Aug 24, 2015 at 11:07:13 PM

I've had a couple questions so it is time for an update!
All the backerkit surveys have gone out so if you missed that, check your email and I'll be sending out a reminder today.
The files are all at the factory and in production. They told me it would be around a 6 week turnaround time before I get them back. As soon as I do they will be shipped out to you!

In the mean time, here is the Tesla t-shirt that just came back from the printer!

Thanks for all your support!!!

Final Week! von Zeppelin Art!
almost 9 years ago – Mon, Jul 06, 2015 at 11:15:38 AM

Heading to San Diego

Only 7 days left in the campaign! I’ll be spending the last few days relaxing at my 19XX booth in the San Diego Convention center just in time for San Diego Comic-Con International. If you’re in the area, stop by and say hi! This year I’m right next to DC Comics. So I should be hearing all the comic news first hand.

Von Zeppelin

For most people the name Zeppelin has become synonymous with large airships. Of course a Zeppelin is just a brand, like Ford or Dodge. There is a reason Zeppelin has become a name so many people know. He pushed the limits of airship design and believed in the dream of lighter than air flight with such an intensity that few others could match! Below is an excerpt from the first printing of the Secret Files of the 19XX volume one. It’s supposed to be a portion of a biography about Ferdinand von Zeppelin that describes the construction of the airship Carpathian. The Carpathian is the airship the 19XX call home in the graphic novel series. Also below is a closer view of the cover of the von Zeppelin artwork that pays homage to the world of airship travel that never was!

Fully Funded!!!

Sketchbook Update #2 Fully Funded!!

We have funded! Now to see how many sketch books I need to order! In a couple weeks I’ll be heading out to the San Diego Comic Con 2015, I’m sure I’ll see some of you there! This campaign is set to expire the week I get back so I’ll have another chance for an update then. If you have any ideas for stretch goals on this project, let me know!

Hughes Art

Here’s a closer look at the Hughes artwork! I decided to focus on one of Hughes’ amazing machines instead of an image of him. The Hercules, or the Spruce Goose, as it’s more commonly known has always struck me for the amount of promise and hope in the design. Hughes had lofty goals and often met or exceeded them. In the case of the Hercules, Hughes failed in seeing his original concept through, but the hope and promise remain in his original design and I can see the possibility of what might have been.

Here are a few shots of Hughes from the books!
